An adventure pass is required to be displayed in vehicles when using the Forest for recreation purpose. The first half of the hike is shaded and includes a couple of water crossings.
The second half is more exposed with limited shade. Once you park in the parking area off Big Tujunga Canyon Road take the North Trail Canyon Road to Trail Canyon Trail Path. The trail meanders through the mountains following the creek and is a pleasant hike. Trail Canyon Falls is off the Falls Base Trail. The route gets a bit steep as you approach the falls so make sure to wear proper footwear. There are a number of ropes to hold onto for safety as well. The views of the waterfall are spectacular. For more information visit the Angeles National Forest Service website. While dogs are technically allowed on this trail, the terrain may be too challenging for them. Keep this in mind when deciding whether to bring your pup along.
