Hector Perez- Roman

Founder , Host of Valley Views

Hector Perez-Roman is CEO and founder of Valley Views SFV Media, LLC, host/executive producer of Valley Views on KROJ 101.5FM and Board of Trustees of KROJ Radio Ollin. Hector founded Valley Views SFV in December of 2019 with the mission to uplift stories of brilliant people, organizations, businesses and social movements that have a positive impact on the San Fernando Valley and beyond through deep and fun discussions at the intersectionality of politics, economics, culture, art and music. Hector is also a National Board Certified Teacher. He teaches AP World History at Arleta High School. He has been honored as a LAUSD Teacher of the Year, LA County Teacher of the Year, CA Semi-Finalist Teacher of the Year and Most Inspirational Teacher by United Way of Greater Los Angeles. Hector holds a Bachelor’s in Public Policy from Occidental College, a Masters of Education from UCLA and a CA State Teaching Credential in Social Studies. Daniel Molina

Community Engagement Director

Daniel Molina, a Marine Corps veteran, discovered his calling in art and community through his work with Valley Views. He believes, “If you’re going to do something for the rest of your life, it might as well make you feel good about yourself.” Passionate about his role, Daniel thrives on creating a dynamic environment where the Valley Views team is eager to push forward. As the community engagement director, he excels in his role, whether he's MCing events or performing music with Jose the Panda, with whom he collaborates on various tracks. Daniel's commitment and creativity make him an invaluable asset to Valley Views.

Vanessa Esme 

Performing Artist, Media Designer

Vanessa, a resident of Arleta Pacoima, is a Design and Media Coordinator with a diverse academic and professional background. She holds a double BA in Design and Music Composition and Ethnomusicology with a minor in Ethnic Studies from UC Davis and is currently pursuing an AS in Engineering Graphics and Design Technology at LAPC, with a focus on CAD programs. A former Arleta High School student, Vanessa is a dedicated feminist committed to addressing gender gaps. As a musician and composer, she is working on an album and frequently performs at community events. Vanessa is passionate about exercise and has a strong presence in the music industry, having started as an intern at Cosmica Artists and working part-time at Peer Music. In addition to her roles in music, Vanessa is a BIM intern for LACCD Build and works for the SFV nonprofit DIY Girls. She also shares her talent with Valley Views, where she manages merchandise and is involved in developing the design and media department. Vanessa is inspired by the quotes “Love is patient, love is kind…” and “Just a kid from Pacoima.” She is a firm believer in leading by example and is guided by Benito Juárez’s principle: “Among individuals, as among nations, respect for the rights of others is peace.”

Chris "Blaserk" Macias 

Host of Take You There Radio, Performing Artist

Christopher Macias is a versatile DJ, producer, designer, event coordinator, and radio host for TAKEUTHERE Radio and Sound System. He has had the privilege of performing at top Los Angeles venues, including Academy LA, Catch One, and Pershing Square. TAKEUTHERE Radio aims to spotlight global music beyond the usual top 40 hits and offer a platform for emerging artists. He is committed to exploring new sounds in production and collaborations. As the founder of Freeworld, a clothing brand dedicated to celebrating global culture and raising awareness about current events, he strives to blend creativity with purpose. Mike Price

Crew Member

Born in West Virginia, Mike Price has lived across several different states in the East Coast including New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Georgia before permanently relocating to California in 2014. His biggest inspiration comes from his father, the late Reverend DeWayne P. Byrd, who was a renowned pastor, active community organizer and beloved church leader. Mike’s early exposure to grassroots community organizing through his father is what motivates him today to improve his community in Pacoima. Along with his diverse background in both the private and non-profit sectors, he eagerly brings a wealth of experience as a founder of Voces Unidas en Pacoima. He currently works with an LA based healthcare non-profit organization providing vision services to children in underrepresented areas across the United States. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his partner, Maria, and his Frenchies, Max and Francine.

Teodora E. Reyes

Host of Voces Unidas

Teodora E. Reyes, a dedicated Community Organizer from the San Fernando Valley, was raised in Pacoima by her single mother. As a first-generation student, she earned a B.S. in Conservation and Resources Studies with a Public Policy minor from UC Berkeley. Her background in policy and grassroots activism began in her youth and has driven her efforts in local policy change. Teodora has led significant campaigns in Environmental Justice, including the Shutdown Whiteman Airport initiative and enforcing cleaner fuel and noise curfews to enhance community well-being. Beyond her professional role, Teodora co-founded Voces Unidas with her sister Diosy and friends to amplify voices in the San Fernando Valley. She also serves as the Communications Director for the San Fernando Valley Young Democrats, where she has boosted member engagement and voter participation. Committed to social and environmental justice, Teodora works to elevate diverse voices and strengthen movement building in her community.

Diosy Reyes

Host of Voces Unidas, Chief Operations Officer 

Diosy, a lifelong Pacoima resident and passionate advocate for marginalized communities in the San Fernando Valley, has dedicated her career to grassroots organizing, journalism, and entrepreneurship. Previously working in private security and residential management, Diosy experienced burnout that led her to seek a more meaningful and impactful career path. As the founder of Voces Unidas en Pacoima, she's committed to fostering a community where everyone feels valued and empowered. Her deep-rooted connection to the Valley fuels her unwavering commitment to social justice. As a self-employed creative,Diosy understands the importance of community-driven spaces that resist the harmful effects of capitalism. She's actively involved in local coalitions and collectives, working to uplift Black and Brown communities and create a more equitable society. Drawing on her experience in managing and protecting communities, Diosy brings a unique perspective to her work as a social justice advocate. She's dedicated to creating safe, inclusive spaces where residents can thrive and contribute to their community. Beyond her work with Voces Unidas, Diosy serves as the COO of Valley Views SFV Media and the co-founder of Valley Views Hikes. A lover of nature, she's passionate about sharing her love of the outdoors with others and creating accessible opportunities for outdoor recreation.

Aurora Hernandez

Producer, Website Developer

Aurora is a dynamic creative with a passion for turning everyday moments into meaningful art. Whether through spoken word, DIY projects, or content creation, she thrives on surrounding herself with creativity, often collaborating with her younger brother, a musician, and her mother, a poet and aspiring author. Aurora loves blending her mom’s poetry with visuals, creating evocative video pieces that bring the words to life. With over 13 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Aurora has dedicated herself to serving marginalized communities, including a role on Palmdale's Human Rights Advisory Committee and the General Plan Advisory Committee. She has also taught English to teenage girls in a shelter for human trafficking victims in the Dominican Republic, reflecting her commitment to education and empowerment. Known as the most social introvert around, Aurora once dabbled in improv, proving that she’s a walking contradiction—an artist at heart with a penchant for community engagement and advocacy. Aurora has found her niche and her people here at Valley Views, where creativity flows freely, and the team works perfectly in sync.

Sof Forealdoe is a proud Chicanx nonbinary SFV native. They are a comedian, creator of a food series called so fool Valley Bites, and radio personality on KROJ 101.5FM They hold a Bachelors in Communication Studies. Jose the Panda

Host of The Panda Hour, Performing Artist

Jose Maldonado is a passionate music lover whose journey began with a desire to dance as a child. By age 11, he was already calling himself a DJ, setting the stage for a lifelong dedication to music. In high school, he joined the marching band as a trombone player and discovered his true voice through music production, a turning point that solidified his commitment to a career in music. Jose also became the sound tech manager for his school theater, honing his skills behind the mixer board. After high school, Jose continued to produce and release his own music, gaining traction on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. He began building his own studio in the Valley, recording tracks for friends and fellow musicians. In 2020, he took his passion to the airwaves, interning at local radio stations including Radio Ollin 101.5 FM and KPFK 90.7 FM. This experience deepened his community involvement, leading to regular DJ gigs at family parties and venues like the Soraya Theater and Paramount Studios. Jose’s music has even found its way into small indie video games, showcasing his versatility. One of Jose’s proudest accomplishments is teaching young people how to create their first songs, sharing his love for music and inspiring the next generation of artists.

Maria Salgado

Host of Las Comadres and Voces Unidas 

Maria Salgado is a seasoned community advocate and activist, deeply rooted in the San Fernando Valley. With extensive experience in the nonprofit world, Maria brings a unique perspective and a proven track record of driving positive change. As a co-founder of Voces Unidas en Pacoima, she has dedicated her time to uplifting her community. Immigrating from Peru at a young age, Maria grew up in North Hollywood before settling down in Pacoima. Her personal journey, coupled with her unwavering passion for social justice, makes her a powerful voice for the Valley. A valued member of the Valley Views team and an active participant in various community coalitions, Maria brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team.

Melissa Walk

Host of Voces Unidas

Melisa Walk is a passionate advocate for social justice, with a strong background in organizing and policy advocacy. She earned her degree in Environmental Economics and Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, where she specialized in Environmental Justice. As a co-founder of Voces Unidas, a social justice collective, Melisa is dedicated to amplifying the diverse voices and experiences of the San Fernando Valley (SFV). The collective’s mission is to highlight the intersection of local history, social movements, and politics, creating a platform where community narratives can shape and influence ongoing dialogues. Beyond her professional work, Melisa enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family, exploring the outdoors, swimming, and indulging in her love for coffee.
